LYONS, NEBRASKA - The Center for Rural Affairs recently released the Rural Food Business Toolkit, a booklet that provides resources to help rural food businesses succeed.

The sections of this toolkit address steps throughout the supply chain that get products into consumers’ hands, such as the processes for licensing and distribution. The resources are primarily intended for value-added food processing business owners and are also useful for commercial kitchen operators, farmers and distributors.

“This toolkit addresses needs identified by rural food entrepreneurs who participated in our Rural Food Business Growth project in northeast Nebraska,” said Sandra Renner, Farm and Community director, Center for Rural Affairs. “This resource will be helpful to any rural food business, processor or anyone with an interest in great food and local businesses.”
