NEBRASKA CITY, NEBRASKA – Area residents are invited to join in on the festivities of Nebraska City Family Day, on Sunday, June 23, 2019. This free event is sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs with support from Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce and Nebraska City Center for Children and Families.

The event will begin with activities for children and families at 5 p.m., at Rotten Apple, 301 E 4th Corso, Nebraska City, Nebraska 68410.

Following, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a performance of “Vang,” a play featuring four modern day immigrant farmers and their journeys to the U.S. The play is written by Iowa Poet Laureate, Mary Swander.

“We plan to start the evening with good food, fun, games, and activities for kids of all ages,” said Jordan Feyerherm, project associate with the Center for Rural Affairs. “Then, after the play, there will be a facilitated audience discussion.”
