LYONS, NEBRASKA – The Center for Rural Affairs has chosen Mary Rosa and Eduardo Morales, owners of Venemex Productions in Columbus, Nebraska, to receive the 2019 Entrepreneur Award. Center staff will recognize them at an award ceremony on Friday, March 13, in York, Nebraska.

The Entrepreneur Award is presented annually to an individual or individuals who best exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit that defines and is crucial to the future prosperity of Nebraska’s rural communities.

The business owners have received technical assistance, and also participated in small business trainings over the years, learning business concepts and best practices.

“Mary Rosa and Eduardo are well known in the community, and right now have ranked first position with Facebook followers compared to other local photography businesses,” said Kim Preston, Lending Services Director with the Center for Rural Affairs.

Venemex Productions participates in Latino community events and provides video and photography service to two local festivals.

“The business has grown little by little with a lot of effort on their side and Center guidance and financial support,” said Preston.
