Farm and Community Program
As a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Four Bands of the Lakota, I'm heavily connected to Tribes in South Dakota. Many South Dakota Tribes are originally from Nebraska—both states share cultural backgrounds, economic circumstances, and cultural and familial ties. I grew up in that Plains culture—the novelty of the security is comforting to me when being here.
Along with my 23 years of experience working in Indian Country, I'm a naturalist, biologist, and scientist. I love teamwork, and I'm an information sharer. I love helping and learning, and I’m excited to bring that attitude to the Center to help better the farm-to-market and food sovereignty programs, as well as successfully implement a fully-functioning farm to market program within each of the four Nebraska Tribes I work with—the Omaha, Winnebago, Santee, and Ponca Nations in and around northeast Nebraska.
