About: Black walnuts are native to the area and very commonly seen but do you ever wonder what you can do with them? Join this workshop to hear more. This class will explain what to do with your black walnuts from harvest to kitchen table. Participants will explore the best time of year to harvest, how to process the nuts, and how to identify black walnut trees. They will also discover the nutritional value of black walnuts and what makes them different than “regular” English walnuts. A food demonstration will highlight black walnuts, and a light meal will be provided.

Questions: Contact Angelina Magerl at angelinam@cfra.org or 402.260.9850.
