Mark your calendars: Giving Tuesday is Tuesday, Nov. 29, and the money you give to the Center for Rural Affairs will be matched by Newman’s Own Foundation, dollar for dollar.
Giving Tuesday hasn’t been around as long as Black Friday or Cyber Monday. But it’s a more fulfilling day, falling on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s a worldwide day of giving created to support and celebrate nonprofits after the days of consuming.
Last year, you raised $10,000, and Newman’s Own Foundation matched every single dollar we raised. Thank you! The matching dollars provided extra excitement, and inspired over 30 of you to make your first gift to the Center for Rural Affairs. You are a rural rockstar!
We’re honored and thankful to have the support and matching funds of Newman’s Own Foundation again this year. Newman’s Own Foundation supports our work developing local food systems within underserved communities. This Nov. 29, we’re aiming to raise another $20,000 to support this work, but we can only do it with your support.
Local food systems are especially important for creating opportunities for rural people. Growing your own food should be an option for everyone. We provide the resources and education needed for people to grow their own food and support their families and local economies.
The window to give opens at midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 22 and goes through 11:59 p.m. ET/10:59 p.m. CT on Giving Tuesday (Tuesday, Nov. 29). All money raised through our page on Crowdrise will be matched dollar for dollar by the generous team at Newman’s Own Foundation.
This year, we’re giving you the opportunity to help us raise money. Get in touch with Emilee Pease ([email protected] or 402.687.2100) to learn how you can harness your social networks, friends and family members to help our efforts to grow local food systems.
How can you keep up with our progress? Sign up for our e-newsletter. Like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter or Instagram. And don’t forget to make a donation anytime from Nov. 22 to Nov. 29.
