LYONS, NEBRASKA – Military veterans and active military service members interested in agriculture are invited to attend “A Year in the Life of a Diversified Farm: Monthly Workshops for Veterans.” This free course is hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs, assisted by Nebraska Extension, Legal Aid, and other expert service providers.

Classes will be held both online and in-person as pandemic precautions allow. Starting Saturday, Jan. 30, sessions will be held once per month through November 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m.

“In the online sessions, hear from experts and learn business and finance skills,” said Erin Schoenberg, project associate with the Center for Rural Affairs. “Get hands-on experience by going through the ins and outs of production with experienced veteran farmers on-the-farm.”

Registration is required. Visit cfra.org/events for more information.

This event is funded through the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, through the U.S. Department of Agriculture award #2020-77028-32890. The Center for Rural Affairs is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
