As the director of Nebraska Solar for All, I provide technical and financial assistance to support community, rooftop, and multifamily affordable housing solar projects. I hope to help make a positive difference in low-income and historically excluded populations statewide in Nebraska and kickstart the transition to renewable energy resources.
For the past 10 years, I have been involved in managing technology projects for Union Pacific and OpsCompass. I was also lucky to lead the Yates Illuminates project in the Gifford Park neighborhood in Omaha.
While I don't live in a rural area, I know rural America is made up of strong communities and people with a good work ethic and deep connection to the land, and where neighbors help neighbors. They have been and continue to be the backbone of our country. In my work, my goal is to be a catalyst for positive change, helping to create a vibrant and equitable rural landscape where everyone can thrive.
Q&A
What (or who) inspires you?
My parents. We are immigrants to this country and came to the U.S. with little. Their hard work never ceases to amaze and motivate me. And their dedication to giving back to our communities is something I hold dearly to my core values.
What are some of your hobbies?
I have been playing soccer all my life and still enjoy the sport. I also enjoy gardening and trying new ways of growing crops. This year, I did some tinkering growing vegetables with straw bales.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?
So many to choose from, but Denmark is on my bucket list. From what I understand, they have beautiful landscapes with many green spaces. And they consistently rank as one of the top sustainable countries globally, which is something I appreciate and want to experience.
