I grew up south of Fremont, Nebraska, in Inglewood, which at the time was like acreage living. I have great memories of walking beans for several summers on my uncle’s farm. When we weren’t working, we could roam around the farm and enjoy the beauty, peace, and quiet.
Since 2010, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with a unique group of people who all bring something special to the table. That’s part of what makes this job so wonderful. When everyone’s knowledge, talents, and life experiences are pooled together, it manifests into a real team, all working for the same causes and toward a mission we truly believe in.
My husband and I have lived in Lyons, Nebraska, for 30 years. This is where he owns a construction business, and where we raised our son. When I first moved to Lyons from a small city, it was a culture shock, but I love how safe it is for my family.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading and spending time outside having picnics in our side yard under an oak tree. I’m also a poet and it’s a great environment for writing. Someday, I hope to have a book of my poems published.
