Small Business Saturday is this week, on Nov. 26.
The benefits of buying local and shopping small are truly endless. Where we shop, where we eat and have fun – all of it makes our community home.
One-of-a-kind businesses in our communities are integral parts of the distinctive character of each town. Tourism businesses also benefit.
We celebrate our local businesses on Small Business Saturday. While the event is a special day when we can show our support as a nation for local businesses and our communities, the Shop Small Movement is a year-round campaign to celebrate and support small businesses every day.
I help facilitate Small Business Saturday events in my community of Norfolk, Neb. Along with my Center for Rural Affairs duties, I am also a member of the Norfolk Area Small Business Resource Team, a designated Neighborhood Champion.
Members of the resource team work together toward the same goal of assisting our exciting small businesses and to encourage entrepreneurship within our communities. Small Business Saturday is the perfect platform to celebrate our local entrepreneurs and promote shopping at our small businesses.
Join the movement today! You too can be a Neighborhood Champion or sign your business up for a free Shop Small Kit here.
Remember to buy locally this holiday season.
