GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA - Spanish-speaking community members interested in starting or improving their child care businesses are invited to attend a free conference presented in Spanish.
Growing Together: Spanish Child Care Educators Conference is set for Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at College Park, 3180 W. U.S. Highway 34, in Grand Island.
“This year's conference has been carefully curated to provide valuable insights and resources for child care professionals,” said Brissa Borjas Esparza, senior business development specialist with the Center for Rural Affairs. “The lineup of workshops is truly comprehensive and designed to address key aspects of child care operations and development. These workshops collectively contribute to a holistic approach to child care business development.”
Sessions will focus on emergency evacuation planning, healthy use of social media with children and families, self-care for early educational professionals, supporting children with challenging or difficult behavior, helping child care business owners get organized with accounting and bookkeeping, becoming an early child care educator, and best practices.
Anyone with a child care business is welcome, from aspiring entrepreneurs to those seeking to improve existing businesses.
Limited stipends are available for participants traveling more than 100 miles.
Organizers of the conference include Center for Rural Affairs, Central Region Early Learning Connection, Education Service Unit 10, Nebraska Department of Education, Multicultural Coalition, First Five Nebraska, Communities for Kids, Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, University of Nebraska Extension, Buffett Early Childhood Institute, Child Saving Institute, Por Todos Los Niños, Karime Child Care LLC, Lexie’s Little Sunshine’s Childcare, and Community Action of Western Nebraska.
