LINCOLN, NEBRASKA - Farmers are invited to a Whole Farm Revenue Protection workshop on Thursday, Feb. 16, in Lincoln, presented by the Center for Rural Affairs.
Whole Farm Revenue Protection is crop insurance that rewards on-farm diversity. At the free workshop, participants will learn the ins and outs from a farmer and a crop insurance agent. Beginning women farmers may particularly benefit from this workshop.
The workshop will run from 6 to 9 p.m., at Ploughshare Brewing Company, 1630 P. St., Lincoln. Presenters are John Schrieter, regional sales manager of Hudson Crop, and Kelly Jackson, office manager of Daniels Produce.
“This is a great opportunity for farmers who before have struggled to find a crop insurance product that fits their operation. Instead of relying on policies for specific crops, producers can insure the revenue for several crops at once,” said Glen Ready, of the Center for Rural Affairs. “In this workshop, we will discuss what Whole Farm Revenue Protection can do for you and details on how to apply.”
Whole Farm Revenue Protection workshops will also be presented on Feb. 9 in Tekamah, Feb. 15 in Ord, and on Feb. 22 in Norfolk.
