NORFOLK, NEBRASKA - Local food trucks will dish out a rumble as part of Riverpoint ForkFest on Aug. 4, at Third and Norfolk Ave., by the Johnny Carson Mural in downtown Norfolk. This is the second annual event.
Last year, seven trucks competed for the top prize. Each food truck is an individual small business from the Norfolk area. Some of those businesses have worked with the Center for Rural Affairs.
“The opportunity to provide exposure for the food trucks made this event extremely attractive,” said Juan Sandoval, Latino Business Center director. “From Mexican food to barbecue, these trucks are the best secret in our community.”
Sandoval is also a member of the Norfolk Area Small Business Resource Team who hosts the Food Truck Rumble.
Tickets will be available for pre-sale as well as onsite the day of the event. With a ticket, people can sample from each truck, then vote on their favorite cuisine. Regular-sized dishes will be available at an additional cost at the end of the night.
“Last year, people had a great attitude about the event,” Juan said. “People wanted to have a great experience and we were able to provide an event that was fun in our community.”
Riverpoint ForkFest will include small business sales, cruising, and music – Norfolk’s part of Hear Nebraska’s Good Living Tour, sponsored in part by the Center for Rural Affairs.
